Sales

May 2025 sales were $697.2 billion, down 0.3% from April 2025.

Sales were up 4.8% from May 2024.

April sales were revised from +0.1% to virtually unchanged from March.

Inventories

May 2025 inventories totaled $905.5 billion, down 0.3% from April.

Inventories were up 1.4% compared to May 2024.

The month-to-month change of -0.3% was unrevised from the advance estimate.

Inventories/Sales Ratio

May 2025 ratio: 1.30 (unchanged from last month)

May 2024 ratio: 1.34
