TL;DR version of all this:

Japan had anticipated that products already facing tariffs below 15% would see those raised to 15%, while items with higher tariffs—such as beef—would remain unchanged. However, the U.S. government has stated that all Japanese imports will face an additional 15% tariff, regardless of their current rate.
